Janina’s Success Story
Janina graduated from Hamline University with honors. She worked at the Memorial Blood Center. She was well on her way to a highly productive life. One day at work, she had a seizure. She was soon faced with a difficult choice. She needed to either undergo a dangerous surgery or risk further, most likely fatal, complications from her condition.
She chose to have the surgery, and it saved her life. Janina is currently living in her own apartment and is part of our Outreach program. Restart employs Janina in our offices where she answers phones and performs many administrative tasks.
When asked about her aphasia, which affects her ability to understand or express speech, she says “So what? I’m happy.” We are proud of Janina’s progress and are excited to see what becomes of her future.
Janina is only one of our many success stories. Every day, Restart helps others just like her make their way toward a more independent and meaningful life.
