Our Mission
Since 1986, Restart has pursued its mission with passion: To support persons with brain injury and related disabilities to achieve their highest level of independence through programs and independent living skills services in community living and outreach environments.
From our first site in South Minneapolis, we have grown to 7 residential homes in Minneapolis, Robbinsdale, Brooklyn Center, Crystal and New Hope – all focused on individuals living with traumatic brain injury. In addition, we have developed an extensive Outreach Program to assist individuals with brain injury and other disabilities in the context of their own homes and communities.
Persons with brain injuries and other disabilities can have fulfilling lives and reintegrate into the community if they have specialized support services. The foundation of our mission is human rights – every person’s right to dignity, quality of life, equal access to opportunity, gainful employment, and to be an active member of a community.
Restart’s goals are to continue providing quality services to persons with brain injuries, to expand the services we offer and respond to the challenge of meeting the needs of an ever-growing target population.
